Silverdale is registered with the Regulation, Quality and Improvement Authority (RQIA) and has 41 beds. Since opening in 1991, it has been serving the community of Castlederg as well as the surrounding Omagh, Drumquin, Strabane areas. Silverdale offers high-quality care designed to meet individual nursing and medical needs. Experienced Registered Nurses, who are ably supported by a team of highly motivated Care Assistants, provide person-centred care to patients who have elderly nursing needs, terminal illness or physical disability. The Valley Suite, which has 14 single rooms (some with en-suite facilities), is specifically dedicated to providing specialised care for people suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and Vascular Dementia. The staff are renowned for their excellence and professionalism and the Home Manager has been recognised by the Northern Ireland Dementia Awareness Centre for the expert nursing care provided to Dementia and Alzheimer’s patients.
The home is spacious with relaxing lounge areas, small sitting rooms, a tastefully appointed dining room, and several modern bathrooms each of which is equipped with the latest manual handling technology. There are 39 individual rooms, some of which have en-suites, and one double en-suite room. The bedrooms are individually decorated to the highest standard; each has a T.V point, specialised profiling bed, pressure relieving mattress, 24-hour Nurse Call 
button, and a comfortable chair for relaxing. A beautifully landscaped garden with vibrant shrubbery, water features and a fragrant herb bed warrants a stroll and provides a pleasant view from many of the home’s windows.
At Silverdale we welcome enquires from those seeking permanent, temporary, or respite/holiday placements. Day Care Servies are also provided. Prior to admission, every patient has a pre-assessment completed by the home-owner or Home Manager. All patients come via the Health and Social Care Trusts who also complete a nursing and financial assessment. Fees can be discussed during the initial enquiry.
